The Interior Running Association strives to promote running and fitness in the Southern Interior of BC with a series of road and trail races hosted by member clubs in communities throughout the Okanagan and Thompson regions. The Canadian Tire Road Race Series consists of races from 5 km to half marathon (21 km) distances on interesting, scenic, sometimes challenging routes, primarily on roads, but with some paved and gravel pathways. The Starting Block Cross Country Series includes trail races of 9-10 km distances, mostly in community or Provincial parks. Participation is encouraged with points awarded for finishing positions 23 deep in each age group. Series points accumulate for annual awards in each age group. Come out and enjoy the camaraderie of the Interior running community as member clubs share and showcase the best running routes in their areas.
